THE REVIEW
The prince of Okusi land Nnanna(van vicker) was back from the UK so he could be granded in the ways and culture of the land, get married to his betrothed Adaku(Tonto Dike).adaku displays her bad characters on her first visit to the palace where she abused a maid Nwadi( Ini edo) for spilling wine on her. This annoyed the prince who did not like people being maltreated anyhow. The queen who hates Nwadi takes this serious and punished Nwadi by relieving her of her duties as a palace maid. This gets to Nnanna the prince and he threatened to return back to the UK if Nwadi should live the palace. Nwadi who works very hard as a maid in the palace just to get enough money for her sick operation was frustrated when the prince came and told her she was no more going to lose her job. After that incidence, Nwadi was not paid, other servants were paid but the queen said she(Nwadi) will not be paid her salary because of all the mischief she has caused in the palace. That same day, the prince goes to apologize to Adaku and got drunk while they were having dinner. He comes to the palace all drunk and met Nwadi crying. While consoling her he slept with her.he later realized what he did in the morning when one of the maids(Felicia) found Nwani’s bead in his room. Nnanna went to Nwadi’s house to return the bead and also apologize to her making it clear to her that he was drunk. Nwadi gets pregnant for the prince who agrees to marry her but for the influence of his mother denied that he wasn’t responsible for her pregnancy. This brought rejection to her by her family who threw her out of the house leaving her alone to care for herself. Nnanna who travelled back to the UK came back home and was pleading for forgiveness. Nwadi forgave him at last after several attempts by the prince failed.
THEME: LOVE AND BETRAYAL
SETTING: THE MAIN SETTING OF THIS MOVIE WAS THE KINGS PALACE WHILE THE OTHERS WERE OUTSIDE THE PALACE.
MAIN CASTS: Ini Edo, Van Vicker, Tonto Dike, Patience Ozokwor And Vitalis Ndubisi
COUNTRY: Nigeria
LANGUAGE: English
QUOTES: “oh my world” Van Vicker(Nnanna)
SOUND TRACK: the theme song of this movie was by Amara Okoh
TITLE SEQUENCE: While the names of the casts were being shown and the music was playing at the beginning of the movie, I noticed that the central image shown on screen was blurry, changing from one picture to another.
CINEMATOGRAPHY Shots: The long shot, medium shot, close up, extreme close up shot(attention paid on the leg)were used, however medium shots was used most.
Angle: Medium angle was foremost in the movie though the extremely high and low angles were also used.
Transition: Fade-in and out was used for flash back when Van Vicker (Nnanna) remembered what happened the night he was drunk.
Camera Speed: Medium camera speed was used throughout the movie.
Costume: The normal Day-to-day costume was used in the movie except for that of the king and queens attire which was the royal attire and also the servants wore uniforms.
Make Up: Normal make up was used throughout the movie. Done by Matthew Gabriel Okorie.
CHALLENGES: The sound track was always interfering unnecessarily especially when the characters were talking. FINALE The movie ended with Nwadi accepting Nnanna’s apology and then showing him the baby this depicts that no matter how high you are you still need others in life. Despite the fact that Nnanna was a prince he still had to apologise to a servant girl. We all need help at one point or the other. Also this film showed that we can never run away from our past. Nnanna was trying to run away but he couldn’t. NEMESIS caught up with him.
