REVIEW: the movie begins with anene (Fabien adibe) sitting in front of his house reading a newspaper. His wife Madam gold(patience ozokwor) and their daughter Sandra(tonto dike) leave the house on their way to madam gold’s restaurant when anene stops them from going, saying that Sandra should go back to the house and read for her forthcoming examinations. Madam gold disagrees with him and an argument issues between them. Finally madam gold has it her way and she takes Sandra to her restaurant.

At madam gold’s restaurant, madam gold sits down to have launch with her friend mama eko(Camilla mgberekpe) and her regular customer chidi(Charles awurum) sits at the other table, while Sandra stands at the counter. They all discuss the issue of marriage and the right town with the right men for marriage to Sandra. Later that night chidi comes to madam gold’s shop again to discuss a friend who might be interested in marrying Sandra. Chidi tries to convience madam gold that his friend is rich and able to take good care of her and Sandra. madam gold doesn’t buy the story and says she would have to see for herself. The next day chidi and his friend, Benson (uche odoputa) come to madam gold’s restaurant with electronic gifts. She is elated and gives her approval of Benson and promises to talk her daughter into falling in love with Benson.

At home there is a huge argument between madam gold and her husband anene over choosing a husband for Sandra. Madam gold disapproves of Sandra falling in love with a medical doctor and insists that she marry Benson who is a china and Onitsha based businessman. Anene insists that Sandra marry whoever she wants. Titus (Mac smith ochendo) their son who stays in Kano comes to pay them a visit. He has some monetary problems which madam gold takes to benson. He gives her a cheque of six hundred thousand naira which she gives titus. Titus squanders the money on women and parties.

Mama eko secretly meets Benson and tells him of madam gold’s deceptive nature and tells him that Sandra is not interested in him and that madam gold is just leading him on to get his money. He tells chidi who advises they go meet Sandra in person. Sandra confirms mama eko’s story.

The movie ends with Benson inviting the police to arrest madam gold and detain her untils she refunds his six hundred thousand naira.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

Shots: the cameras zoomed in and out of scenes; there were also long, short shots and close-up shots.

Angles: the camera angles were mostly frontal view angle.

Camera movement: there was very little camera movement as all the actions took place at a single view.

Transition: there was no transition in the movie.

Make-up: heavy make-up was done for the leading act in the movie (madam gold). Make up by Deborah David anochiwa.

Costume: normal day to day cloths were worn but more accessorised dressing was done for the leading act (madam gold). Costume by Deborah David anochiwa.

REFLECTION: the movie is a very simple to understand kind of movie. It narrates the extent to which some women would want the best for their but still have their own personal gains in their mind. Patience ozokwor played the role of excellently.
