The movie started with a village setting where a young girl Ibunkun Abimbola (tanke)was packing woods while addressing her friend Ajani the pap seller’s son asking why they have not been able to see for days now, while her sister Bisi Komolafe (Abeke) came out with a hunch preparing for farm work was asked by tanke why she was in a bad mood and was told her sad state is as a result of her not having any friend and that not even a guy not to talk of a girl as even spoken to her except her family and if only one could speak to her ,that then would make her happy. Tanke consoled her on this saying she would have one sooner or later.
At the end of that day , was her mother Taiwo Akinwande (mama banke)selling Akara(beans cake) under a shade when two men Funsho Adeolu ( oluwole ) and Kunle Adegbete ( yemi ) arrived saying they wanted the same thing but In 50pieces while abeke came out saying her father Adenrele (baba abeke) wanted some for dinner too(cassava flakes) when Funsho Adeolu (oluwole) spotted her beauty then and there while in some min later her younger sister banke fainted during the process of frying the Akara but later opened her eyes after much attempt from her parent. The next day was oluwole and his friend kunle adegbeti ( yemi ) while playing a local game called (Ayo) brought up the scene of their previous night who first could not recognize her face after recollecting, decided to make a fast move on her while pretending to make it a good hearted one. The following days after that, oluwole made some moves on Abeke who fell for it and decided to marry him afterwards. she told her parent about it who then advised her to take it easy on her decisions on marrying oluwole saying he doesn’t have any family around of relatives afar that they know of but abeke got her mind made up already saying she is no matter what and that whether she loves him or not do not really count. After some days, both oluwole and yemi came to ask for Abeke’s hand in marriage from her parent and they accepted to give their daughter out to him (oluwole) .the wedding took place in the village their while the mother of the bride gave the first prayer in a happy mood followed by her father and well-wishers.
Meanwhile, after some weeks after the wedding, both friends came to Abeke’s parent saying their daughter was missing and accusing her falsely saying she denied him of their marital duties as husband and wife and during the cause of their argument, she left the house so they taught she might have moved to her parent house since she didn’t sleep in her matrimonial home. With their explanation, both parent cried and the mother made suggestions to visit a herbalist yinka quadri (baba alawo) who told her that she would see her child again only if she exercise more patient and put her mind at rest .with grief and pain of her missing child, mama abeke visited her in –laws house when she was told by a young boy that he saw them leaving with their luggage’s at dawn to Lagos.
There in Lagos, oluwole started a new life and married a new wife Faithia Balogun { iyawo wole } and pushing her to believe he is a good husband. while Abeke’s mother had no choice than to take her daughter banke to Lagos as a house maid due to lack of financial support ever since the death of her father her husband and this was done through the help of Adebayo Salami(baba eko) who after several attempt ,managed to get her into her brother in-laws apartment as a house maid unknowingly to both oluwole and yemi .though the doubted still never knew not until when he caught her trying to sneak in his ritual room. Later that day, he told his wife to go on a tour abroad and also told everyone in the house to leave but to his surprise, his wife declined and even banke stayed after wards without both friends in crime knowing.
But one days as he was performing his monthly ritual, calling abeke out foe sexual pleasure in a spiritual way which would fetch him more money while he was caught by banke, mama abeke, and the herbalist who cursed him and his friend. After a short while, Abeke’s spiritual body fell to the ground and both oluwole and his friend ran mad till death. Faithia oluwole’s wife who taught her barrenness was natural then knew her husband was also the course of her infertility.
The movie ended on a sad but victorious note because mama abeke could once again see hre daughter for the last time, and the two culprits got their punishment from God.
