Plot: a young man Collins(Van Vicker) walks into a very influential bank known as the Ultimate bank offering a proposal which he wishes he could get a sponsor. He is not getting a good answer and so asks for the help of his friend Angela (Chika Ike) for her help as she works for the company. She is willing to but does not have enough power to do so. The manager (Emma Ayalogu) calls on one of his staff who is a youth corper(Ini Edo) and asks that she sends Collins’ file to her husband who is supposed to be the financier. She is not able to identify the owner because the owner’s document was removed. When she gets home and is in bed with her husband in bed he brings up the issue of the proposal and she strongly kicked against it, saying it looked dubious. The next time Collins goes to check on his file after waiting for some weeks, he gets the same answer. But just then Jane walks in again and finds this guy Collins in her boss’ office and she notices the face from school days. He is her ex- boyfriend from secondary school whom she had loved so much but had done something to hurt him. She wants to make up and she decides she would tell her husband to approve the proposal.
Jane’s husband is surprised at his wife insistent behavior and complains to his wife’s sister. Jane is so determined to make it up to Collins he turns deaf ears to him. Jane is surprisingly not paying attention to her marriage any more but is after Collins asking for one last kiss, which he has refused to give her.
Finally, Joe who happens to be Jane’s boss’ friend decides to ask the manager for help in finding out what was wrong with his wife or have him remove his assets from ultimate bank. The bank manager calls a meeting between this were lovers an decides that that they talk things out and forget about it. They do talk and settle their difference about how she got married to another guy and he found the pictures a week to his defense. The incident had left him unprepared and blank and so he had nothing to offer during his project defense. Tired of his situation he abandons school and heads for some place where his people couldn’t find him. She then explains to him the force or pressure that had come to her from her family, to marry Joe after her father’s death and burial.
Collins who now understands the situation says he forgives her and asks her to forgive him too. They hug to settle issues. One would have thought that would end the whole issue but no our dear Jane still wants the love of her life back. She soon realizes she stands no chance when she cooked him a meal and took it to his house only to find out that Angela had also done the same thing but in his house. He asks her to leave and go back to her husband but it’s him she wants. She is so sad and she walks out angrily and not seeing an oncoming bus got knocked down by a hit and run driver. In the hospital she asks to see him alone. He refused to come at first but after much pleading from his friend Paul he decided to comply. In the hospital he finally told her he couldn’t be with her. Unfortunately her husband witnessed the whole scene and after she was okay asked for explanations which she gave. He decides that they stay apart. She thinks she is now free to be with Collins and puts a call through to him. She got his friend who told her he had travelled to Paris and that she should go back and settles with her husband who loved her very much. Collins stands by and watches his friend but he was already parked for his trip. Jane goes home and makes up with her husband, promising that she would learn to love him.
Theme: do not let the past rule your present because the past has fulfilled its own let the present take course too. Always try to make the right decisions.
Main Casts: Van Vicker, Ini Edo, and Chika Ike.
Country: Nigeria
Language: English.
Quotes: childhood is a kingdom where no one truly dies despite the fact that it’s replete with avoidable acts. This was a quote made by the manager.
Cinematography
Shots: most of the major shots were used for this movie. Nevertheless, I particularly like the use of CU (close up). I noticed that every time there was a flash back or a reflection, the camera zooms in to a CU on the face of the character. This gives us the opportunity to see the emotion in the eyes of that character. It is like penetrating into his minds.
Angle: medium angle was mostly used and some other angles too
Costume: day-to-day costume was used in the movie since it has a contemporary setting.
Finale: I think the climax of the movie occurred when Jane started demanding for a kiss and at this point Collins is confused. He knows he could fall but is firm and goes ahead to make the right decisions.
