Orimi Ajiki
Name of reviewer: Omotosho Yewande Augustina
Summary:
Orimi Ajiki centers on a young lady, remilekun(Iyabo Ojo),beautiful and down to earth and she possesses a good character and attitude, but there are some circumstances surrounding her, which she knows nothing about. She doesn’t have a good marital life. Her first marriage to Chief (Olumide Bakare) but the marriage did not last and she was sent out few days after. Subsequently, because she brings bad luck to any house she comes into, they send her packing. Much more later in the movie, we get to know that they warned her never to carry anything on her head, but along the line she forgets and because of her situation and predicament, she starts hawking food, selling "amala" to be precise, she sells to people to earn money to take care of herself and she also cooks for people during weddings, engagements, housewarmings, child-christenings to mention a few.
While hawking her food, she meets a guy Bayo (Kunle Adegbite), who was feeling hungry and asked the car wash guy where he can get an eatery and eat and the man convinced him of a girl who sells food and that her food is well prepared and tasty, he then decided to give the food a trial, he bought the food and truly reasoned with what the car washer guy said, since then he started sending his employee’s to buy the food for him, because he couldn’t resist the tastiness and flavor, suddenly he started developing likes for the girl, he actually was engaged to a girl whom his sister introduced to him, but the girl didn’t meet up to her expectations, she has a lot of bad attitudes and character’s for example she doesn’t know how to cook, she’s saucy and proud and never at home,Bayo never knew that his so called wife is a prostitute.
Bayo developed instant love for Remilekun (Iyabo Ojo) and he made his intentions known to her, she refused at first but she later agreed and started staying with the guy, suddenly things turned around for Bayo from good to worse, he was to be awarded a contract but suddenly the contract was awarded to someone else, he was so furious because he was confused. Bayo went to meet a herbalist concerning the issue about the evil things befalling him, there the herbalist made it known to him he has something in his house that it’s causing it, then he remembered that the girl whom the herbalist said he should marry is the cause of it, Bayo really loved the girl and didn’t want her to go, the herbalist then told him that she didn’t yield to the instruction given to her never to carry anything on her head, she was warned and everything became good for Bayo again and he loved and appreciated her the more.
The movie’s storyline is somehow to say, it’s storyline is not following each other, there were some scenes that they kept us in the dark, like the beginning of disk B we saw some strange faces that we didn’t see in disk A.
To me personally I rate the movie FAIR!!!!!!!!!!Because I was expecting more, but they didn’t really impress me, the casts were okay, just for some scenes and
I have a serious problem with some of the Casts, they look inexperienced to me. The shots in the movie were okay, they really explored and gave us good shots, like the extreme long shot, long shot, close up shots to mention a few. The cinematography is fair too.
Generally the movie is FAIR! if the story line and scene’s were been done it would have raised to a GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On my ratings, so for the next movie coming from the stable of the producer and director more his needed and expected.

Fantastic Story
ReplyDeleteIn as much as I love good storylines, I don't compromise on quality of cinematography and casts' ability to make the movie "real". Good effort bt I hope they improve on the lapses next time.
ReplyDeleteI have never been a good movie critic as what makes a good movie to me is what is actually missing in Nollywood movies. Be that as it may, judging from the synopsis, i could sense a whole of suspense at intervals which is what a good film need
