The m ovie “SOUND OF POVERTY” is a true life story which contains laughter, pain, sorrow and victory over poverty encountered by four Nigerian girls Esosa(Ene Miltex Ogiri),Ene(Ufoma Ejenebor), Tola(Monalisa Chinda) and Ify(Susan Peters).Tola leaves the shores of the country with her boyfriend who somehow elevates her. On her arrival she treates her friends as trash. Moved by the betrayal of their friend, Esosa leaves the country determined to make it, she ventures into prostitution. However she is saved from the disgusting act by a good stranger who later falls in love with her. Finally, she comes in grand style only to find out that her father died of stroke as a result of lack of fund for medication, she establishes her friends. The four friends re-unites and their story changes from grass to grace.
The movie is highly emotional which forces tears drops from the viewers eyes and it is a must watch, I must say that the story writer did a wonderful job by revealing the effects of poverty in the country, the actors and actresses interrupted, the shots were well taken there few grammatical errors, the sound quality was fair enough and the pictures were of good quality and they depicted what the director wanted the audience to know. The settings of the movie was good as it showed a good presentation of how poverty truly is, the costumes spoke a lot about the concept of the film added more quality to the production of the film.
The genre of the film is both tragedy and comedy as each of the girls lost one their relations to lack of enough money for proper medication and comedy as it ends in a good note and makes the viewers laugh. It is a must watch for nollywood lovers regardless of their status as poverty affects everyone. The promises to put a smile and tear drops on faces at the end. The movie is an exact imitation of a true Nigerian poverty story which still exists till date.

  1. We really are like one big family as the movie soundtrack reminds us. Only that individuals in the society fail to see it that way else the world would be a better place.
