She comes from a family of three made up of her mother, a widow- Mrs Adekojo(Rachael Oniga) and her sister- Abidemi Adekojo(Ronke Adeniyi).Omolewa had not been lucky with men including Akolade- her first husband and Tokunbo Ademilekun(Femi Branch) who she met through her aunt in Canada. She fell in love with Ebure kolade (Muyiwa Ademola) who resided in the United States. They became engaged through his mother- Asabi Ebure (Fausat Balogun) who contracted a marriage between them by engaging a pastor to lie that the marriage was ordained by God. Omolewa’s mother was quite sceptical about the marriage but later agreed with her daughter.Omolewa’s father-in-law- Ebure (Jide Kosoko) was generous to a fault as he still feeds and provides for his children and their spouses who live in his house even after marriage. Ebure in collaboration with his wife- Asabi went to make charms in order to be rich and the charm was made with the destinies of their children and their spouses and this charms were usually renewed with the gifts he gives like giving underwear’s and sanitary pads to his children’s wives. Omolewa began to have night mares and in one of the dream she faces the duo- her father and mother-in-law who were trying to drain the good things in her life, and destroys it as she recited Psalm 24. She vacates the house without taking anything except her bible. Omolewa embarks on a three-day fast as instructed by a prophetess and her breakthrough came on the third day as her ordained husband- Tokunbo who had abandoned her came back and they finally got married. Her in-laws faced the consequences as proclaimed by the herbalist- Baba Omosehun (Wale Akorede) as the consequences had no remedy .Ebure became blind while his wife-Asabi became an idiot while Akolade travels back to the US and the other spouses of their children left them to wallow in their predicament.

REVIEW- The movie EBURE’ means patience’, according to this adage-‘ikanju o se la obe gbigbono’ which literarily means ‘you can’t take a hot soup while rushing’ .This movie is highly didactic; it is intriguing, educative and a satirical movie that exposes the ills in the society. This movie teaches morals and emphasizes that patience is needed in everything one engages in including choosing of life partners.

The movie’s major criticism is that it does not uphold the tenets of marriage as to leaving one’s parents home after marriage and cleaving to one’s wife; kolade remained in his parent’s house even after wedding his wife-Omolewa as his father kept on providing for them. This led him to problems with his wife. Look before you leap as it is not all that glitters that is gold.

The movie also emphasizes on the need to be prayerful as the heroine of the movie triumphed because she was prayerful as it is the master key and solution to all problems. It taught on the need to beware of false prophets who for the love of money lie against God and say He spoke to them even when God had not spoken. It also warns to obey whatever instructions a true prophet of God has given because the reward is usually worthwhile.

The movie also encourages good and worthwhile friendship. It also warns to beware of making of charms because of gaining wealth as they have negative consequences in the long run. It is a must watch for every home and highly recommended for marriage counselling. Keep watching home videos because they expose basic ills in the society.
